Ryan Hetrick
STEM Scholarship
I wanted to encourage more high school students to pursue a STEM field in my home area. I wanted to start giving back to the community that has given me so much. This scholarship is awarded to students who have shown leadership and passion in at least two sports and are engaged in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field. One Senior student from Maple Grove, and one Senior student from Southwestern will be awarded this scholarship. Below are the recipients

Dontae Hoose
Dontae Hoose is a Southwestern High School graduate and will be pursuing an engineering degree from Lehigh. He also was an incredible athlete. He took 3rd at the New York State Wrestling Championships and 8th in the shot-put event at the New York State Track and Field Championships. He will also be attempting to walk on the Lehigh Wrestling team.
Sam Eimiller
Sam Eimiller is a Maple Grove High School graduate and will be pursuing a computer science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Sam was an incredible athlete as well. He now holds the Maple Grove School record in the 110-meter hurdles and was a key player in Maple Grove’s soccer state tournament run. Not many graduates from my area major in computer science coming out of high school and this shows his willingness to better himself outside the classroom.
